On Monday the 22nd of November we was all put forward to go to a confrence with the rest of the design media and fashion students. Our first talk of the day was from a graphic design Jon Bugerman. Although his talk wasnt aimed at fashion in a way he did inspire quite a few people. Jon Bugerman graduated from Trent Universtity in Nottingham and then got a chance to design a Coca Cola can that was published between 2004 and 2007. To get his designs noticed he made loads of stickers and put them all over Nottingham and then he finally became famous from seeing his stickers in a book. From then he has made a record, hes done album covers hes also gone all over the globe to do his designs on walls for resturnats and hotels. He actually joked that from his emails he got a lot of people asking him if he would come into their house and decorate but he wants to keep things at a safe distance.
Later on in the afternoon we had another guest speaker called Simeon who was really inspiring. Simeon is a London based designer but wasnt recognised until he came to Nottingham and designed the I love Nott's logo on hoodies and T-shirts. He also told us about his past life and what he enjoys the most. I loved his designs especially the ones with the huge pocket and button at the front along with the HUGE bow at the front. Simeon talked about branding which i kinda know a lot about but he told us that it is well worth the risk and that greats things will happen. Although he hasnt set up his own retail store we asked him if he is going to and he replied 'sometime in the future it is a possibilty'.
Simeon inspired me loads because i am a blogger now and i am getting addicted a lot! And i am wanting to start my own shop in Nottingham but my original idea was to be a personal stylist but all these things you can go in retail is unbeleivable! Especially in fashion from the stylist of videos and photoshoots to being a researcher which includes going to catwalks and noting down what trends are going to be big in the next season.

From todays talks i do know what i would like to do and yes it is all about taking risks because if you dont take risks you wont get anywhere.
